Carrie Fisher is Hilarious

As part of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens promotional madness, Carrie Fisher appeared on Good Morning America, accompanied by her dog Gary. She’s just being herself, but has interviewer Amy Robach and the entire crew in stitches before it’s over.

The Holiday Beer Balance Trick

His stepdad declared he could balance a glass of beer on his forehead, and then drink it without using his hands or arms. Well, he did, and didn’t spill any, either! Don’t you wish your family holiday get-togethers were like this? (via Daily of the Day

The Mona Shores Singing Christmas Tree

Mona Shores High School in Muskegon, Michigan, constructs a singing Christmas tree for their holiday concerts every year for 31 years now. The tree is 67 feet tall and holds 240 of the 275 members of the world-renowned Mona Shores High School Choir. The tree also has 25,000 programmed lights, so it can perform on its own.

The first concert for 2015 was Thursday night, and performances continue the rest of this weekend. You can see more videos of the choir at the Singing Christmas Tree site. (via Metafilter)

Arsonist

This newspaper clipping is from Nunavut, which is why there's a second language. There's not much to do in Nunavut, and arson among children is not all that uncommon. (via reddit)

Dog Babysits for Cat

A mother cat has two kittens. In this sequence brought to us by Ignoramusky, her dog friend offers to occupy the kittens for a while so the mother cat can take a break. Before it’s over, the dog is teaching the kittens to play pat-a-cake. At least that’s one interpretation.

Another interpretation is that the mother cat is showing the kittens how to slap a dog in the face. I prefer the more pleasant explanation. You notice after the kittens get bored and wander off, the dog and cat have their own little play tussle. (via Tastefully Offensive)

Tired of Waiting: The Empire Strikes Back Parody

Anticipation fatigue is starting to set in for Star Wars fans as we draw closer to the release of The Force Awakens. David Unger tried to pass the time by making a parody video based on footage from The Empire Strikes Back, with his own face spliced in and plenty of cultural references and visual puns added. DUM is David Unger Music. You’ll find more songs with videos based on blockbuster movies at the website. (via Geeks Are Sexy

Look Who’s Driving

How cool would it be to drive a full-size truck around an obstacle course with a remote control! It would be a great test of skill, and a blast, too. Volvo trucks set up just such an obstacle course, and rigged a Volvo FMX with Automatic Traction Control to be driven by a handheld controller.

But look who’s driving! Four-year-old Sophie is too young to control a bicycle, much less a full-size truck. The ensuing mayhem is a treat. Sure, it’s an ad, but it’s also fun to watch. (via Viral Viral Videos

Roly Poly Panda Goes Downhill

This video of a cute young panda probably doesn’t need any explanation, but the Google translation from the French YouTube description is precious.
In Japan, the "Adventure World" park in Wakayama prefecture, a cute giant panda will give a hard time to employees of the zoo. The young panda still a little awkward, seems at all costs want to throw in a little ravine which is in its enclosure. The zoo with trying to prevent the ball from falling hair, but it will still slide headfirst into the ditch. Very awkward, the panda will need the help of careful to go up, to the delight of visitors to the zoo. Probably the cutest cascade of the year.
I would agree this is the cutest cascade of the year. (via Tastefully Offensive)

The Real Story Behind Krampus: The Christmas Demon

Americans have only recently become familiar with the European Christmas demon known as Krampus. How did a terrifying goblin become associated with Christmas? Our friends at Today I Found Out have the story of how Krampus arose hundreds of years ago from the dark forests of Bavaria to invade other nations. The customs surrounding Krampus differ from country to country. Here in America, we make horror movies out of such legends. (Thanks, Daven!)

Mark Hamill Goes Undercover as a Stormtrooper

To drum up interest in a Star Wars Omaze contest, Mark Hamill disguised himself under a full suit of Stormtrooper armor, just like he did when he rescued Princess Leia. No one called him on being too short this time!

9 Flowcharts to Help You Navigate the Christmas Season

Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year, and all the other winter holidays are times of tradition, when we continue to celebrate in the manner of years past. But some modern situations call for decisions that tradition doesn’t cover. That’s why we have flowcharts! Here are some that pertain to the unique conundrums that arise this time of year, in a list I posted at mental_floss.
