40 Years Without A New Antibiotic. Why?



Science hasn't given us a new antibiotic since the 1970s. It wasn't for lack of trying, but researchers have found all the antibiotics that can be discovered the easy way. It's a matter of thinking outside the box, er, Petri dish. But once that was accomplished, new technologies had to be invented to enable new research methods. Let's hope they pay off.
