How could the professor, Dr. Roy Hinkley, build all those useful gadgets and not be able to repair the Minnow? There's a perfectly reasonable explanation, and it's not just plot armor.

After watching your You Tube post on the professor, I had to find out if and how they got off the island. I found out how they were rescued and to save you 98 minutes I'll never get back, the professor latched all the huts together and a tsunami wave came and they woke up the next day floating on the ocean (they were tied to poles and with cringe innuendos involving Gilligan securing Ginger and Mary Ann.) But ultimately, Gilligan is the one that saves them. But I won't tell you how . No spoil alerts here !
