My cable company helpfully sends me an email when they have an internet outage. And other when it is restored. Not only is that useless, but they are often several hours late. (via Give Me a Sign)
Had no office phone or Internet for 3 weeks. Using my cell phone to try to get someone to come fix it, all I could get was: we show no service outage. Then they'd close the communication. Finally found a phone number, and they wouldn't help me because I didn't have the magic code established 21 years ago (if ever). Changed providers immediately and told the other guys to go pound salt.
When I canceled my land line and had the number transferred to my cellphone, the phone company delayed and delayed while they called me almost daily trying to convince me not to leave. Finally one time they asked, "What is your major complaint about our service?" I told them, "It's attached to the wall with a wire and I can't take it with me." The transfer was completed that afternoon.
