Istanbul has a ton of stray cats, but most of them get along pretty well, because the general public makes sure they are respected and have enough to eat. Therefore, they aren't afraid of human strangers. These cats have the best of both worlds: freedom to roam and socialize with each other as they see fit, plus food and affection from the people around them.
