Read an article about the introduction of refrigerated foods. Met with the usual public fear and loathing. There was a meal of such food in the US somewhere in 1911 and the guests were described as very brave to eat such a scary meal.

One downside though is that much of today's food is rather bland. I grew up on a farm and food had more flavour which varied a bit by the season. Our free range eggs in the winter were not the same as summer for one example.
