Every one of the 50 states has a flag, but you probably only know your own state's design. They all seem to run together. CGP Grey lays out some vexillology rules and standards, and then gives each state's flag a grade. Most of them fail, and deservedly so. A few are good for a laugh. In the discussion at reddit, the biggest disagreement is with the value of purple in a flag and the grade that Colorado got. (Thanks, Bicycle Bill!)

who has the authority to grade flags? If anyone does then anyone can grade flag graders. I give a -F to the teacher for cultural and historical insensitivity, and general entitled bitchiness.
A- for the grader; pretty much everything is spot on, but I'm taking points off for giving Mississippi such a high grade despite the/those words.
In my book NM wins and anything made with spare parts of the confederate flag loses.
I agree with most of his grades, but I can't abide his high ratings for Texas' flag. Texas' flag is the easy/early reader United States flag.
