I can so relate to this. When the last kid moved out, I went upstairs to reorganize what was left. I found at least a dozen each of nail clippers, scissors, umbrellas, flashlights, combs, knives, and other things we had constantly replaced over the years because they disappeared. "Their" treasures? They have all those things, but never bothered to unpack over the summer, so of course they just borrowed mine.
