This is a February 1960 episode of The Danny Thomas Show, also called Make Room for Daddy. Thomas is traveling, and while passing through the small town of Mayberry, North Carolina, is arrested by sheriff Andy Taylor. This served as the pilot for The Andy Griffith Show, which premiered in October of 1960.
For you youngsters, Danny Thomas also founded St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

Well, I'll just watch for a minute or two, but nooooo. Sucked me in thinking about those old B&W shows. Every show was a complete story, usually a good guy, a bad guy(or just a jerk), and the good guy wins but not easily. That's one of the reasons Seinfeld was such a break from previous formats.
Oh, they always warned you several times if the show was a 2-parter to be continued next week.
