Cooking mistakes.
Lordy, they use a lot of asterisks in their writing, my thought has always been, if you are going to say it, say it, don't hide it away but still make the reader say it.
Also, I know they are chefs and maybe English wasn't that important at school, but it is really hard to respect someone that uses the language poorly.
