Despite what you see on TV and what you read in the women's magazines (or used to), not every grandma is a great cook. If yours was a mediocre chef or baker, you are not alone. Not by a long shot. The reason I host Christmas dinner every year wasn't always just tradition- that started a quarter-century ago because my mother-in-law made such awful holiday dinners. At the time I was being both generous and selfish, but now it's tradition, and I won't mind when someone else volunteers to take over. But I digress. This comic is from Randall Munroe at xkcd.
