Shampoo

I dunno, I always shopped by price and little else.

I'm like you about the price; there's nothing wrong with dollar-store shampoo. But I've been around long enough to have tried all the different luxury kinds, you know, in other people's showers, and it doesn't matter how cheap or expensive the bottle looks; they all have the usual sodium laureth sulfate, polyquaternium-7, methochloroisothiazolinone and so on. But if it also has /paraffin/ in it, things just go better during the day: I get the job, or no-one honks at me for not going fast enough when the light changes (they just wait politely until I'm good and ready to go), or I don't say the wrong thing and twinge-regret it for the rest of my life. It can't be just my imagination, it's the paraffin. And it makes my coat sleek and shiny. And I don't smoke nor ever go near anyone who smokes or looks or smells like he might, so I don't have to worry about catching on fire like the circus tent in the Charles Nelson Reilly story.

You forgot packaging. I try to minimize plastic, which means gambling on a huge bottle of the stuff. They have bulk shampoo at the coop, but so far it's all underwhelming.
