I'll grant you there is a similarity, but there is a bridge section in the video's song that I have never heard in any of the variants of Cohen's song I have listened to. Add to this the fact that the song and video was not done for profit (extra-credit in chemistry class notwithstanding), and even if this had been brought to Cohen's attention he'd have been best advised to just let it slide.
May 2012... we had just proved the Mayan Calendar did not mean the end of the world. Self-driving cars were pure science fiction. Game of Thrones had just started to air its third season.
Republicans nominated Senator Mitt Romney to run against President Barack Obama for his second term. We had recovered from what we believed to be the worst economic recession of the early 21st century.
Oh, Ron Larson. If only I could go back in time to warn you. Words cannot describe how unprepared you and your contemporaries are for what the next eight years would bring.

Ha! I wonder if Leonard Cohen knows about this? Call me crazy, but this sounds they changed the lyrics to his song "hallelujah".

By the way, Ron, your time stamps say you posted your reply on 5/27/2012. Do you own a DeLorean with a flux capacitor?
