By Edison Lighthouse. The song became a hit first (in 1970), then the band was assembled to perform it.
Since I first posted this, my connection with the song has changed. I was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Dolittle used the song as her wedding recessional. I had no idea she'd even heard of it.

Those were shining times :)
Yikes! The Queen of the Earworm strikes again!
The rosemary in my kitchen garden has a big red heart (on a stake) next to it. Only old people get it...
Also an old clock next to the thyme, and a small cement Buddha behind the sage. I enjoy adding a little whimsy to my gardens. I am always on the lookout for a Simon and Garfunkel item for the herb garden. I tried a laminated picture but that did not last long in the sun and rain.
