Why are there big cats, but no big dogs? While there are wild canines species left that differ from our human-bred domestic dogs, the biggest of them top out at about 175 pounds. Meanwhile, adult male tigers can easily weigh 600 pounds!

Have mercy on anyone who disrespects grandma. This golden retriever is super loyal, and he always takes her side. She doesn't even have to say a word! He will solve any dispute in grandma's favor, and don't even think about hogging her food- you could be banished from her presence for good, or at least until she finishes her pineapple. Google Street View
Google Street View vehicles have been traveling the world, taking pictures of everything, for 15 years now. Ethan Russell of Google Maps takes us through the app's history, from the initial idea to what it is today. The way they take pictures began with the now-familiar street view cars with huge mounted cameras and a backseat full of processors. But they've developed some neat cameras that weigh less and work better. As the technology evolved, Google Street view ventured into places where vehicles can't go, with cameras carried by pedestrians, snowmobiles, camels, and even sheep!
Street View explores new locations, and constantly goes back to popular places like big cities with its improved technology. But here in the hinterlands, I know I can always turn to Street View and see what my house and my entire small town looked like in 2008. (via Digg)
The Internet Arguer
Slackstory brings us a guy who likes to argue. There’s nothing wrong with a friendly argument in which people refrain from personal attacks or hitting below the belt, but there is a certain type of internet commenter who doesn’t really care if he wins, loses, or changes any minds. He just wants to argue. Still, the producers of this video managed to avoid the most irritating tropes in an unfruitful argument: “Educate yourself!” and “Wake up, sheeple!” and the endless name-calling (on other sites). Barn Cats Hard at Work
Sunflower Farm Creamery in Maine keeps Nigerian dwarf goats for their milk and they make cheese, yoga, and candy to sell along with the everyday dairy products. Another of their products is a never-ending supply of cute goat videos. Along with goats, dogs, and other livestock, they have three cats on duty at the farm: Virginia, Roger, and Phil. These barn cats were recruited for pest control, but they serve in many other capacities. We have to tell you that, because when you watch them work, you barely see them move at all.
Identifying Humans
Octopuses are the closest thing we have to aliens. It only makes sense that they would communicate with extraterrestrials. Even so, appearances can be deceiving. This comic is is from Sarah Andersen's side project Cryptid Club. There's a book, too!
One More Try
We see skateboarders do amazing tricks and we are impressed with their talents. But it doesn't come easy. Every trick takes endless practice, and you have to be willing to fall a lot to achieve success. In other words, it's hard and dangerous work. Star Wars Gets The Guardians Of The Galaxy Trailer Treatment
What makes the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer so appealing? Is it the quick out-of-sequence cuts that give no context, but make you want to see more? Is it the comedy plopped into the middle of the action? Is it the goofy selection of music? Maybe it’s all the above, instead of the movie itself, because YouTube member The Unusual Suspect recut scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy using the Guardians trailer style.
