The Way Norwegians Translate American Movie Titles

The Norwegians developed a shortcut in translating movie titles. For almost a hundred years, American comedies were retitled with the word Help! plus whatever the movie was about. They didn't have to do that with the Beatles' movie Help! The titles became a kind of shorthand to let the viewer know this is an American comedy with just one word. YouTuber SindrElf shows us how many Hollywood comedies got the Norwegian title treatment, which will have you giggling like a little kid eventually. Lola the Happy Swan

Lola the swan was hatched in a lake in Orlando, Florida. But Lola was the last egg in the nest to hatch, and when the mother and the other cygnets left, she was too young to follow them. If this were a fairy tale, Lola would have joined a family of ducklings and would have been labeled "ugly." Lola's fortunes turned around when a local couple stepped in and volunteered to raise her with the hope of returning her to the lake. That plan didn't work out, and Lola is now a permanent pet. The family had gone above and beyond to give Lola a good life, building her her own house and protected area of the lake to swim in. But Lola prefers to spend her time with her people and the family dog! So Lola spends her days outside and in the lake like a swan, and the evenings inside with her family. Pay your euro and pull the lever! This human slot machine was set up during the Koningsdag (King's Day) celebrations last weekend in the Netherlands. The holiday is observed every April 27th for the king's birthday. Slot machines are called fruit machines in parts of Europe. It takes a while for the slots to start spinning as the guys say their arms are tired, but they still have their sense of humor. The beer certainly helps. You can tell that most of their patter is jokes, even if you don't understand Dutch. The language has been described as the uncanny valley of languages, halfway between English and German, so both English and German speakers feel they should understand it and the effect is that these guys are very talented at speaking gibberish. Ocelot Encounter

Coyote Peterson was wandering through the Costa Rican rainforest at night -which doesn’t seem all that safe- when he encountered an ocelot. Luckily, this was a half-grown cat that was somewhat used to people. Still, how strange is it that a wildcat will let you pet her? She also wants to play, and you know how cats play, by attacking! Peterson gets his eared chewed on and a few scratches. Don’t try this at home. As if you could! Let’s just hope that this ocelot’s ease around humans doesn’t lead her to a bad end someday. Working in an Amazon Warehouse

The only happy part of this video is when you thank God this is not you. You'd be surprised at how many people have "warehouse" on their employment history, because Amazon and other shippers need so many workers, yet they only stay as long as there are no alternatives. Some consider being homeless a valid alternative. I found an explanation for the wage cage he is assigned to as a sanction.

Honest Trailer for Fallout Season One

The post-apocalyptic Amazon Prime Video television series Fallout is based on the world of the video game series. It's become quite a hit among viewers, even those who've never heard of the video games. Now that the first season has wrapped up, Screen Junkies goes through it to give us their opinion. Their opinion? It seems they like Fallout a lot. You can't point out a lot of tropes and errors when the whole story is so insane that we haven't seen anything like it before.

The Dumbest Thieves in Sweden

Two men try to rob a watch shop in Kista Galleria just outside Stockholm, Sweden. The store is closed, so they have to break in, but it’s an enclosed mall with plenty of people around, one who recorded the entire caper. By the time they broke into the store, found some merchandise they could actually get to, and tried to make their getaway on a motorbike, they had an audience of shoppers and security personnel all waiting for them. Add to that the malfunctions of a gun and the bike, and you can understand why this video went viral. Maybe they shouldn’t have chosen Friday the 13th to pull this off, although I can’t see it actually working on any day. (via Viral Viral Videos)
