Raised Catholic and never had any issues around fish not being meat. I'm still comfortable with that after looking at the various definition of what is and isn't meat. Fish is fish. From a religious perspective it's just something one should respect. Unless you also want to take issue with the several billion adherents who consider pork unclean.

The entire idea of any religion is founded on faith without proof, belief in the face of evidence, so why not fish/meat as well?
