Birthright Citizenship in the US

In the United States, everyone who is born here is a citizen, no matter who your parents are. That came in with the 14th Amendment. but the Amendment has been challenged over and over. There's a 45-second promotional break at 7:16. (via Laughing Squid)

I understand why we needed to have this amendment, and I understand that it is beneficial to society to have some immigration, but it would seem a repeal of this amendment would solve a number of problems for the country. If you favor keeping it, what do you think the greatest advantages are to doing so?
