On Jeff Ears

Jeff Francoeur plays for the El Paso Chihuahuas, the Padres’ Triple-A team. He’s new on the team, so he was introduced to everyone else at once. His teammates told him that pitcher Jorge Reyes was deaf. Reyes is not deaf. Francoeur didn’t catch on to the prank as quickly as they expected, so they kept it up -for an entire month! Even Reyes’ wife got involved. And even though there was never any sign language the entire time, Francoeur never questioned that Reyes was deaf.
