In New Zealand, you can get into medical school with a pass of 68% in the entrance examination ... if you are part Maori. If you are non part Maori, i.e. 'white', Asian, or anything else, you need to score 91%.
If you don't know, the Maoris are the race of people that sailed to New Zealand in the 1300s. There are no full blood Maoris left, the last one died in the 1940s.. One presumes the low entrance for any part Maori people is an effort to ... Well, I don't know why.
