Brandy

This song played about every ten minutes for at least a year starting in 1972. But that was before music videos, so I never knew until tonight that the singer was such a skinny guy. I had always pictured an older, larger man with a beard. Go figure.

That line in this song "... When she saw his raging glory" always cracks me up. I just picture some girl snickering and saying to him "So THAT's what you call your little guy".

Yea... I'm gonna call mine "Raging Glory". Lets see how seriously I'm taken.

The song was referring to the sea. But I kind of like your interpretation better!

I always wondered what John Cusack was doing in 1972.

OMG. I had no idea that I had misunderstood the lyrics all my life.

But, MY version explains why no other man is good enough for her. In fact, it explains the whole song.

Sorry about ruining the song for you. You will never hear it the same way I again.

Don't miss the Elliot's acappella version - 50 years later and he can still hit al the notes!

I can see expecting a bigger guy to be singing that song. Kinds has the vibe of David Clayton-Thomas from Blood Sweat and Tears

This is the very first song I ever performed when karaoke first made its appearance back in the 1980s.  And I still do it, most recently yesterday night under a tent at an outdoor Oktoberfest beer garden.

And even if I DO say so myself — almost 35 years later and in my sixties, I can still knock it out of the park.

I always pictured a bearded, stockier man, too. Something about the voice.
