Kickin' the Gong Around

Cab Calloway sings, dances, and conducts the band in 1932 in the movie The Big Broadcast. The song is full of drug references which obviously went over the heads of the majority of the movie audience. The dance he called “The Buzz” is the precursor to Michael Jackson’s “Moonwalk.” (via Metafilter)

The Cats' Easter Egg Hunt

Watch these cats have an Easter egg hunt -they look confused at first, but there’s catnip and cat treats all over the place! And toys to play with! And these eggs roll around so nicely! It seems like a lot of fun, but my cats would rather be out looking for real bunnies, chicks, ducks, and frogs. One cat keep eyeing the ducks and geese down at the river, but they are all bigger than he is. the cats from Furball Fables enjoyed their hunt, without all the competitiveness you see in human egg hunts. Houdini Honey Badger

Honey badger will not be contained! Stoffel the honey badger was raised in captivity and cannot fend for himself in the wild. He now lives at the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in South Africa. But he’s too dangerous to let roam around the other animals, and he’s a master of escaping any enclosure they design for him. This is a clip from the BBC2 series Natural World. They had a bet on the game that the loser had to dance on a street corner in Provo, Utah, to whatever music the winner selects. Playing Jenga with Heavy Equipment

One surefire way to get the internet’s attention is to take something that was already fun and make it so big that someone could get hurt. In this case, it’s a super sized game of Jenga, although for copyright reasons, they call the game “Stack.” The playing pieces are 600-pound blocks of wood. The players are operating five different pieces of heavy equipment (excavators and telehandlers, etc.) in this promotional video from Cat® Products (Caterpillar). When the stack finally tips over, you’d better get out of the way fast! The behind-the-scenes video is pretty amazing, too.
