Félicette, the First Cat in Space
France launched a cat named Félicette into space in 1963. So far, she is the only cat to have survived space travel, despite the many space cat memes. The Nostromo's Jones is still fiction. (via Strange Company)

How to Move a Couch in New York City
You see some weird stuff on New York trains, but last Monday, some riders got to share a car with this guy relaxing on a leather couch. What's the deal? Turns out he's moving the couch to a different house the cheapest way possible.
We don't know how he got it through the turnstiles, but here's how he got it into the car.
Commenters at reddit say he probably took the couch through a wheelchair opening in the turnstiles. There are probably a dozen more videos of this stunt, including the turnstile phase. A good time was had by all. (via Laughing Squid)
Real-Life Human Zoetrope
We've posted an awful lot of zoetropes over the years, and here is another, but this one uses real people. While it looks like a stop-motion video, you have to remember that while you watch "a man" moving, it's really six guys appearing in successive frames. Cool idea, and the producers deserve some credit for that, but the real stars are the performers. Imagine trying to stay upright on a playground carousel using just your feet while you follow a plan and coordinate your moves with five other guys! You can see a making-of video here. (via Digg)

My Purina Experience
Under my "social media" folder in Gmail, I only save messages from famous people and stuff that is unresolved. I recently noticed an "unresolved" thread of Twitter messages from two years ago. It was the first time I'd ever interacted with a corporation through Twitter. And the last. Notice the dates on the messages. I never received a coupon, so I replied again, exactly two years later.
Okay, I might get a free bag of Kitten Chow out of this, or maybe not. Not that I need Kitten Chow anyway, since the cats are all adults. I think I'd originally bought Kitten Chow for Gogo, to get her strength up in her old age. Several days later, I received an envelope from Purina, with three coupons! But they were all for $1 off a bag of any of their dry cat food products. On the back they say, "Limit one coupon per specified item(s) purchased." Great. I'd have to buy three bags of Cat Chow to save any money at all. But I really wouldn't save any money, because I normally buy store brand cat food that's way cheaper. Thanks, Purina.
People Pot Pie
Now, these are some freaky-looking pies! Doesn't matter. If they've got berries in them, I'll eat it. I believe these pies were made by Ashley Newman of Folsom, Louisiana. Her Etsy store is here, but I don't know how you'd buy one of her pies. Newman posted a tutorial a few years ago on how to make these pies. (via reddit)
Maru's Shampoo
Come on, admit it, you've always wanted to see Maru take a bath. You might by surprised and a little disappointed to find that he maintains his usual calm, stone-faced demeanor even when under a shower head. Even if he dislikes it, Maru is used to it, because an international YouTube star always has to be clean and presentable. However, you might be surprised as how normal his body looks without his fur all fluffed up. His roommate Hana, on the other hand, protested through her entire ordeal.
