PJ Ace used artificial intelligence to render the trailer for The Fellowship of the Ring in the style of a Studio Ghibli film. Hayao Miyazaki would hate it, as he hates the very concept of artificial intelligence.(via Neatorama)

"It's like Studio Ghibli made it" only if Studio Ghibli is distilled down to its films' least-important attribute: the (recognizable) shape of facial features.
But aside from the name-drop, I think it's fun to see the trailer in an animation style like this. I like how recognizable some of the characters (and actors) are. Like there's a couple glimpses there where there are subtle features that are so clearly Orlando Bloom or Ian McKellen (or any of the actors, really). Except maybe Liv Tyler.
Anyway, it's a fun video. But I agree with Hayao Miyazaki. I really enjoy some Studio Ghibli films, and I'm sad to see them reduced to something as trivial as facial features - because in reality, "what if Studio Ghibli produced this" would be so much more than just how the characters are drawn.
