Believe it or not, there are TWO towns named 'Rome' in Wisconsin. The first is Rome, WI (ZIP code 53178). With a population of roughly 750, it's located in Jefferson County in southern Wisconsin about forty-five miles west of Milwaukee. The other Rome is an unincorporated community (ZIP code 54457) located in Rome Township in the northwest corner of Adams County, about fifteen miles or so south of Wisconsin Rapids in central Wisconsin. In addition, the TV series Picket Fences was set in a fictitious Rome, WI, and Ayn Rand also placed the home of Twentieth Century Motor Company in a fictional Rome, WI in her epic novel, Atlas Shrugged.
