Logs are pack animals and belong within the family. Keeping a log chained up, as some sort of security, while not giving it shelter or water, is a crime. Buy a Ring camera, for goodness sake. Take your log inside your home with you, especially in winter, that's where a log belongs, in the very room you sit in, right in front of a roaring fire ... ready.
