Just to clarify, the KKK was not confined to the South. A now long deceased family member told me that when he was a child in 1930 (by my calculations he would have been 6,) he witnessed a silent parade of the KKK in the town where he grew up. It is located in New York State just north of NYC. The parade consisted of all the town's leaders from the mayor on down, along with all of the business owners and other leading citizens. No words, no banners, just a public display of the KKK's control of the community.

Yeah, the second iteration of the klan went nationwide around 1920.

Yeah, to have two consecutive administrations where it is unclear who is running the government is concerning. I hope it is not a trend...

Just sayin' .... every movie I have ever seen to do with the KKK always seemed to have the most piggish looking guys playing the racists, while the dark skinned blokes were basically good looking.
Almost as if the movie studios were out to influence the American people.
I say American because, being foreign to yous fellas, I grew up on a diet of European movies & British TV shows, and the flavouring was very different from that from the west coast of the USA.
Please don't think my words derogatory about American movies, some were really good, that one about the moon landing (cue the Chilli Peppers song) almost seemed true, apart from they were supposed to take 3 days to get there, 2 days being there, and 3 days to get back, and there was nowhere to have enough air tanks stored.
Swings and see saws, I guess, you had the KKK, and recently you had people of a darker skin tone being hired because of that skin tone ... and people being hired for being 'born in the wrong gender' (but that's a whole different ball game) ..... maybe next up, but not until after the next election obviously, people of intelligence and common sense will be the ones that are promoted.

Not-so-fun-fact: the province of Saskatchewan had the highest number of KKK chapters in Canada during the 1920's. To this day, some still refer to it as "Alabama of the north".

WilliamRocket, are you really defending the KKK from the American movie industry making them look bad? And complaining about people with 'darker skin tones' getting hired? You should move to America. You'd fit in really well with all the MAGA-heads here, not that we need any more of them.
