Look again at 0:04 to see the northern coast of Spain (near the bottom, surprisingly brightly lit) and the west coast of France (upward and toward the left; Brittany is partly obscured, but you can kinda make out the Cotentin Peninsula).
I flew over the Sahara about 20 years back. Clear night and there was only one small light (campfire?). Too many lights now almost everywhere. We are losing the night sky.
