Jerome Brouillet's shot of Gabriel Medina is an amazing photo. This video lets us know just how quickly this happened. Talk about having the right person in the right spot at the right time with the right equipment!
The Olympic surfer is nuts. In the video he escapes a long run in the curl to swing up the wave and leap off the board in jubilation. But with the board attached to his leg by a rope Its a wonder the board didn’t bonk him when he hit the water.
The story about Smith and Carlos goes into a lot of detail how the action on the podium was planned. I was always under the impression it was a last minute decision and one raised the right fist and the other the left so they could share a pair of gloves they borrowed from the Australian silver medallist.
Royally screwing up traffic is called “traffic calming”? grumble spit growl grunt glare fart poopyheads
