In 2004 I stopped building houses and did renovations for people instead. Over the first 6 months of that I took home 4 rabbits. One pair I took from the house next door to where I was working, they were in a cage close to the bottom of the garden, skinny, very hungry and forgotten ... took me about half an hour to convince the woman that her child was not looking after them. The other ones came from other houses but basically the sme situation, brought for a child and then neglected, but these ones were both alone. Those bunnies are long gone now, but at least they had the fullest life I could give them, running free around my well fenced property. If I ever see people going into a pet shop with kids in tow, I stop and have a talk to them. Luckily most spoilt brats... children ... want something with a screen so they can vegetate their brain.
