Disney movies make little girls want to grow up to be a princess. They have beautiful dresses, loyal servants, a magical fairy godmother, and they end up marrying the prince of her dreams. But then what? Eventually you'll be a queen, and the lives of real queens were anything but fun. In real life as a queen, you didn't get to choose who you marry, possibly a prince or king who may be quite inbred, and you might not even speak the same language. Then your duty was to bear children of royal blood. Plenty of people wanted to kill your spouse or children or even you, and the rest of them wanted something from you. Meanwhile, you had to keep up the decorum expected from royalty. Your subjects might not even like you. It was a lifelong sentence of no privacy or agency.

Being the Queen Can Be Miserable

Princesses don't become queens just because they grow up or marry. The only way to become queen is to be crowned. The wife of a king or the husband of a queen is a /royal consort/. Have a king and a queen /ever/ married, in all of history?
Probably among pharoahs...
I have always thought the same, but it seems in England ... and please do not mistake me for a royalist ... the 'behind Diana's back' tramp Camilla is now called the Queen.
And yes, I realise Old Big Ears the Tampon Lovin' Idiot is easily as culpable, but what sort of a woman allows herself to be that much of a bitch ?
I literally spit on the whole concept of a royal bloodline being superior to yours or mine, especially one tainted by inbreeding ... have you heard Queen Elizabeth's eldest son speak ? He may not be quite as bad as his very German father but my children at age 8 made more sense.
Better me with your wit or intelligence if you can and I will offer you praise, but be of royal blood and you rate below a slightly less than 85 I.Q. person from the poorer nourished part of town.
Ugh, Camilla, a person whose name degrades the flower it came from (least I think it came from Camellia ... maybe it came from camel, she seems arid enough)
Suffice to say, when the off world aliens come back here to Earth and give me special powers, Camilla and Donald will be amongst the first into the abattoir.
And I don't mean Donald Duck.
