Its the exact opposite here in New Zealand. My ginger cats are curled up on the cool hardwood floor in the dining room, the dining room being the furtherest from the windows.
The heat outside is 32ยบ which is about 90 in American degrees. I want to go see if there is any mail but I will need to put on a lighter coloured tee shirt first ... or run fast.
