Complimentary

We are also commemorating 20 years of companies exploiting 9/11 to sell merchandise, or else putting no thought into it at all. This is an example of the latter. "We need to mention 9/11; what do we do?"  (Thanks, WTM!)

In another 20 years when 9-11 in mentioned will people have warm and fuzzy thoughts about the free coffee and mini muffins at Marriott?

After seeing this, I'd stay at a Motel 6 before I'd book into a Marriott.

By the way ... that was at a single property (San Diego) back in 2013.  Here's hoping they've learned a little something ... like tact and propriety ... in the interim.

At first, I didn't even notice the specific time the muffin offer was for: 8:45-9:15am, the same time of the 9/11 attacks. That is in REALLY bad taste.
