A Good Day

November first was a special day for me. First, I went to a city council meeting over an infrastructure issue that affects my church, particularly the food bank. A couple of dozen of us went, made our case, and won the day!

Then my mother and I went on a road trip to the college town for star-gazing session with Princess's astronomy class. I got to see Jupiter up close and even make out the bands. We also saw the moon, Saturn, and a lot of constellations. Then Gothgrrl called and we had coffee with her at the school cafeteria -which is open until 11PM. How cool is that?

The third thing I didn't find out about until this morning. I have another grandchild! My stepdaughter gave birth to an 8-pound little girl last night, a few hours away from here. Everyone is healthy. W00t!
