    As a Brit, I absolutely agree with all of these with the exception of the 'You must come to dinner sometime' comment.

    1) This is only a problem in the posh middle-class parts of society (i.e. mostly the south,

    and

    2) I've had exactly the same problem when visiting America (Massachusetts).
