"Rainy Days And Mondays" by the Carpenters was released in 1971. It would have gone to #1, except for the juggernaut that was "It's Too Late"/"I Feel the Earth Move" by Carol King. This one's for gwdMaine.
The first 2 albums I ever purchased, that weren't by Disney, were Tapestry and The Carpenters. I still have them, and Carol's Beautiful is my alarm clock (on the rare days when I set an alarm). Best music ever.
