Earth vs. The Spider is a Bert I. Gordon B-movie in which a group of teenagers battle a giant man-eating spider. Despite the title, the action is limited to one small town. It opened on 400 screens (I imagine mostly drive-ins) on Halloween night, 1958. (Thanks, WTM!)
I remember the scene where the giant spider peeks in on the woman and baby so clearly. For some reason, it showed up on UK childrens TV on a few occasions and scared the wotsits out of me.
