I remember my group got onto a hotel elevator in China. There were six of us, with luggage. The sign said "限12人" which means "limit 12 people." One of us nervously pointed out that meant 12 Chinese people. The elevator lurched up a couple of floors and stopped. When the doors opened, my husband and I stepped out, and suddenly the elevator doors closed and it zoomed up at normal speed. We ended up with a three-flight climb up the stairs (with luggage) and a funny story. For the rest of our stay, we split up for elevator rides. (via Give Me a Sign)

I was riding an elevator in the hospital where I worked. I was looking down at the floor where it said "Ottis - dependable elevators" when the lights went out. Damn dark in an elevator without lights.
ReplyDeleteNotice the sign maker can spell chihuahua but not Volkswagen.
