The parrot post struck a chord with me. I encountered a number of parrots while living in Central America. In one instance, a parrot whose cage was just of a highway made the sound of big trucks approaching and then fading into the distance. In another instance, two parrots shared a cage in the corner of recess area of an elementary school and together they mimicked the sound of a group of children at play. One of the parrots died. The remaining parrot sounded like a group of children half as large. Quite poignant.
