At the 2024 XOXO Festival, Cabel Sasser told the story of how he discovered a forgotten artist. This is delightful. You can skip the first two minutes, but you'll be glad you stayed for the ending. (via Metafilter)
You so often find things to show us that kick me in the chest but in a good way. This is so good. I'm never getting around to preserving my own work, or digitizing it all, or cohering it into a book, but I'm relieved of that duty now; I see that all I have to do is let some people who love me know vaguely where it is, so when I die they can gather it all into a storage locker and then forget to pay, and that will be okay. That will be fine.

ReplyDeleteCabel first spoke at XOXO in 2013, but the talk you linked to was actually at this year's festival, held in late August.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andy! I have that corrected now.
