British author and humorist Spike Milligan served with the Royal Artillery in World War II. His duties switched between entertaining the troops as a musician and serving as signalman and back again as conditions dictated. During the Letters Live 10th anniversary show at Royal Albert Hall in November, Sanjeev Bhaskar read a letter that Milligan wrote to his family in September of 1943.
