Rodan

Released in 1956 in Japan and in 1957 in the US, Rodan is Toho Studio's first monster movie to be shot in color. When I saw it in the mid-60s at a drive-in, I had no idea it was already an old movie. Back then, movies that did well were re-released every few years anyway, because there was no home video. The monster called Rodan is introduced here, and went on to appear again and again in other moves, including a couple of run-ins with Godzilla.
