If there's any way to turn a week-long murder into a benefit, this is it. Here, have a hankie. This comic is from Aidee Sea at After Death Comics. (via Geeks Are Sexy)
I remember reading a short story in my high school years that worked something like this called "Satan and Sam Shay" (by Robert Arthur).
The gist was that the man won three successive bets with the devil to keep the devil from claiming his soul, and the devil cursed him so that he would never win another bet for the rest of his life. So he went into business as a sort of insurance broker – say you were planning an outdoor event and didn't want it to rain on a specific date, so you'd engage his services. He would then bet a friend that it WOULD rain that day.
