Arnold and Amelia

Amelia and Arnold are Canada geese who live in a pond near the New England Wildlife Center in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. Canada geese normally mate for life, and these two were well known locally. But then Arnold was injured in what was believed to be an attack by a snapping turtle. He was taken into the nearby hospital for surgery. It wasn't long before Amelia was knocking on the door, looking for Arnold! The clinic staff arranged for Amelia to be the first thing Arnold saw when he awoke from surgery. They then moved Arnold to recover near a window where Amelia could see him, and they shared meals together under supervision, until Arnold was discharged back to the pond.
