The group is Jehovah Shalom Acapella. I thought I'd hear some nice gospel music in this video, but I was blown away by their precise delivery and pleasant harmony. Who are these guys?
Jehovah Shalom Acapella is a six-member, Gospel, vocal band from Kampala, Uganda. They all belong to the SDA faith.
The group started way back in 2006 as a singing group, In High School, before they identified themselves as Jehovah Shalom Acapella.
Okay, enjoy the guy in the front center singing bass while the rest are a chorus of tenor and falsetto voices. But wait- the front right guy is a bass singer, too! Wasn't he singing falsetto for most of the song? Such range! His name is Kato Samuel. I watched some more of their videos. In this medley, at about 3:30, Samuel does his own call (bass) and response (soprano). Awesome.
I do love that old time gospel music and these guys are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome is an understatement
ReplyDeleteThere's so much autotuning here I can't tell what they might really sound like. Those bass notes seem especially not genuine.
