  1. I guess politicians in Texas are kind of like those politicians in some places who wanted to defund the police (Minneapolis comes to mind), but still expected someone to protect them from violence and mayhem.

  3. Nope, the defund-the-policers had an alternate plan, the Texans decided to just ignore it hoping it would go away.
    They forgot the people who are most at risk are the people with the most people contact daily... the politicians.

  4. Yeah, unfortunately, the alternate plan failed in most places, just another similarity. They forgot the people most at risk were ordinary citizens, including minorities, who did not have armed escorts and law enforcement protection 24/7. You know, like mayors and governors have.
