The Chimney

This reminds me of what happened in July. We have three fireplaces around the central chimney (the fourth was removed), two of them bricked up. The other one has gas logs that we never use, and a loose-fitting iron plate covering it. Princess noticed something odd about that plate- a whole row of tiny clawed fingers (or toes, actually) hanging on the top. The bats were asleep in the fireplace. I'm glad to say that chimney was outfitted with a screen barrier after the bats left for the winter. I have a guy working on the other exterior holes where the bats get in. It's slow going because he has a real job on the side. But I digress. This comic is from Jimmy Craig at They Can Talk.
