Karen

"Karen" is not a racial slur. It's calling someone out for their behavior. I'm a white woman of a certain age and have never been called a Karen. That said, I can still feel for women who were named Karen at birth and don't act like that. (via reddit)

  1. I once took a job in a northern town where my first name was the local generic name for being a doofus. WCYD?

Well said. I also feel sorry for any high school football, baseball, or basketball player named Brandon right about now.  What's the crowd supposed to chant now to encourage and fire him up?

  4. Yesterday I drove by a house that had a big banner on the porch saying "Let's go, Brandon!" I thought, well, that's classy. Then I saw the second banner, which indicated that a guy named Brandon is running for sheriff.

Not my county, so I can't vote against him.

  5. Not my county, not my country ... tries to look up vocal slogans about Brandon to figure out what they are on about and then thinks ...WTFAID ?

  6. 54 and never been called a Karen either. The only time I ever ask to speak to a manager is to give a compliment about an employee's excellent service. Kindness goes a long way.
