  1. The 3 biggest regrets were interesting and telling.

  2. I thought the three biggest regrets were pretty broad categories rather that regrets. Sort of predictable in they are things most people wonder if they are doing the right thing when they're doing it, rather than suddenly reflecting on it years later.
Sometimes living that dream life is just a matter of doing it, but then another 49% of the time there are serious obstructions, finally the other 50% it's impossible. Like I want to be a leading man in the movies but so ugly I have to sneak up on lunch. Just not possible.

I don’t give a damn what the scientists say, Pluto will always be a planet to me. Poor little guy.

  3. Some people think, post pandemic, we’re in
    a fungible, inelastic, goldilocks economy.
Not me. It’s a giant liquidity trap that no
amount of arbitrage can save. Everyone’s
shorted the time value of money and the
opportunity cost is shot. How do I know?
The Grubhub driver who delivered my pizza
last night used to be my financial advisor.
He warned me that financially, I should
have died last week. So go ahead and watch
as the Central Banks put more lipstick on
this pig. It’s just a dead cat bounce and
when the margin calls come at the next triple
witching, all everyone will have left is
    funny money.

    Happy Friday Miss C!

  5. The only true argument against free health care is that there is no such thing, nothing is free, someone pays. The question is how payment should be made equitably.

  6. Lucky Luciano offered to go into Italy and organize against Mussolini using the Cosa Nostro as the army. It was decided to give him money instead and discover the best ports to attack for the British and U.S. troops, along with the names of contacts that could be relied on to help for Operation Husky, the invasion of Italy. In return Luciano and the mob would be enriched, the Mafia put in control of Italy and have sweetheart deals in the U.S. in Democratic cities.
The Mafia had been destroyed by Mussolini in the 1920’s, using the methods the mob used. Assassination, threats to the family and torture. Hundreds of Mafia were in prison and shops could operate without paying extortion.
The names Luciano turned in were only 20% or less accurate. Most were fake. The coastline was that of Sicily. By 1943 the Northern part of Italy had been liberated by partisans who actually faced German elite troops in combat. Often led by women, thousands of armed civilians had decimated the nazi war machine.
Sicily however was where we were to land following the Mafia plan for action. The Mafia feared the people of the North and did not want our troops joining up with them. So Sicily would be the landing point. Where oddly, there was no Mafia Army after all. The British would pay a heavy price in blood landing in Sicily instead of the North, which was no longer under Mussolini’s control. In Sicily they faced German opposition and no one was attacking them from behind. Luciano had made a fortune on false information.
But the Democrats and FBI kept their word.
They freed hundreds of Mafia from Italy’s prisons, all Dons or leaders were made Mayors and put in charge of handling money coming in to rebuild the country. All backed by the guns of the U.S. military,as the people of the North pleaded for us not to do it.
Here in the states, Hoover the head of the FBI began saying there was no mob. In Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and other major Democratic cities the mob became a shadow government getting contracts and operating with impunity. This would last until the mid- 1970’s. All for a promise not kept, all for a scam.
