Just weird! How can they say that with a straight face? Doesn't happen in my accent because "mask" is pronounced differently. Plus there isn't a debate in the first place.
Vireya, when you just say it once, you don't think about what it would sound like played over and over. However, EVERY announcer said it once, so listeners hear it over and over.
